The call travels over the internet. The recording doesn’t.
While you’re talking, each person’s own camera and microphone are being captured in their browser at full quality and written to their own machine. What you hear over the call is the network’s best effort. What gets recorded isn’t.
Those files upload in the background during the session, so nobody has to sit and watch a progress bar after you’ve said goodbye. The take is usually safe before the conversation ends.

Your guest clicks, lands in a green room, checks the camera and microphone they’re about to use, and joins. No account, no download, no plugin to allow, no calendar invite that opens the wrong app.
If they pick the wrong microphone, and they will, they can switch camera, mic or speakers mid-session without dropping out of the room.

Create a recording session
Pick Record when you make the session and the studio drops the live surface entirely. No stream keys, no destinations, no chance of going out by accident.

Send the guest link
One link, reusable or regenerated. Guests do their own device checks in the green room while you finish your notes.

Press Record
Every start is a new take. Stop and start as many times as you want. Takes don’t overwrite each other, and you keep all of them.

Download the tracks
When you end the take, the files are assembled into plain MP4s: the program, plus every participant’s own local master.
Separate tracks, not a flattened mixdown
A single composed video is fine until someone coughs over your best answer. Because every person was recorded separately, you can cut, re-frame and re-balance each of them independently, in whatever editor you already use.
And because the takes are just files, they’re yours: download them whenever, keep them wherever. Your recordings don’t sit behind a countdown to deletion.

Recording alone? Your own camera is the master.
A solo session skips the compositor entirely. The 1080p track your browser captures is the take. Nothing to composite, nothing to degrade, and no second machine in the path between you and the file.
Before you record
Does recording start automatically?
No, and it never will. Recording is always an explicit press of the Record button, in a recording session or during a live broadcast you’ve opted in on. Nothing is captured because a room happened to be open.
What happens if a guest’s internet drops mid-sentence?
Their local recording keeps running on their own machine, because it never depended on the connection. When they come back, the upload resumes from the chunk it stopped on, and they rejoin the room on the devices they were already using.
What if they close the laptop before the upload finishes?
The captured chunks are held in their browser’s storage, not just in memory. Reopening the session page picks the upload back up. The host can see, live, whose files are still in flight and whose are safe.
Do guests need an account or an app?
Neither. They open the link in their browser, allow the camera and microphone, and they’re in. There is nothing to install, and no account to create.
How long can a session be?
Recording hours aren’t what we charge by, and we don’t run a meter on them. There’s a published fair-use policy rather than a silent limit that stops you mid-sentence.
Can I record and stream at the same time?
Yes. Recording during a broadcast is a toggle in the Go Live dialog, opted into on purpose, so you always know whether a file is being written. See live streaming for the destinations side.
